Low Pressure Diaphragm Gauges
For the past 20 years Marshalltown Instruments, our sister division, has dominated the O.E.M. Diaphragm gauge market. In late 1994, Marsh-Bellofram expanded its product offering by becoming the exclusive manufacturer of the Marshalltown Diaphragm gauge. This is a superbly accurate, sensitive gauge measuring pressures from 10PSI to a low as 1 centimeter/H₂O. The industrial O.E.M. market utilizes these gauges and recognizes Marsh-Bellofram as the leader in low pressure application.
This low pressure gauge is a highly sensitive instrument. Incorporating a unique design feature, the diaphragm element allows accurate low pressure readings in a variety of application. Featuring a bronze diaphragm element, the gauge can be calibrated to ASME/ANSI Grade 1A-1% F.S. accuracy for ranges above 30 inches of water. Ranges are available in vacuum, pressure, compound, cmH₂O, mmHg, PSI/kPa, inH₂O, in/Hg, ozin² and other designations.

How the Diaphragm Gauge Works:
Diaphragm gauges are sensitive instruments used in low pressure applications typically not exceeding 15 psi.
The diaphragm capsule is an elastic metal sensing element comprised of two thin wall diaphragms whose sides are soldered together to make the capsule.
Whenever air, gas or liquid enters the intake port (gauge connection), it travels into the diaphragm capsule.
As vacuum or pressure is applied to the diaphragm capsule, the walls of the capsule expand and contract in response to the change in pressure. This change is then transferred to a rotation rod and arm that rest on the outside of the capsule. The rotation rod is connected to a geared movement through a linkage system.
Connected to a shaft, this system then drives the pointer over a dial marked in appropriate pressure or vacuum units.

All Marsh-Bellofram Regulator Gauges meet ASME (level IV 0₂) requirements, they are suitable for installation on emergency and portable oxygen therapy U.S.P. Regulator Units. Standard ranges include 0/5 CPM, 0/8 LPM, 0/15 LPM and 0-3000 or 0-4000 PSI tank pressure which are UL listed.
